    Artist Biography

    Master of Chinese Arts and Crafts: Xu Chaoxing

    He was born in Longquan, Zhejiang Province in 1943. In 1956, he was 13 years old and studied art from Li Huaide. In 1980, he was the director of Longquan Celadon Research Institute. In 1988, he was awarded the "National May 1st Labor Medal" and the honorary title of "national outstanding scientific and technological worker". In 1988, he was awarded the title of senior craft artist. In 1992, he was awarded the honorary title of national young and middle-aged expert with outstanding contribution and enjoyed the special allowance of the State Council of China. He inherited the technical characteristics of Longquan celadon's Ge kiln and Di kiln, as well as its unique opening skills, profound and fine workmanship. He combined the process characteristics of Longquan celadon with art decoration, and reflected the natural beauty of the product with the characteristics of glaze and body and art patterns, which made Longquan celadon an ancient art develop. His works have received many awards. In 1987, he received the National Ceramic High Quality Award. His works such as "white tiger wine vessel" and "Wucheng wine vessel" were displayed in Tower of Violet Light, Zhongnanhai.
