On November 8th, Nanguo Taoyuan Art Design Innovation Workshop (hereinafter referred to as “Innovation Workshop”) teamed up with Foshan's well-known Internet marketing agencies as well as web celebrity and young artists to launch Foshan's first web celebrity base of cultural and creative industries. With the "cultural and creative web celebrity" strategy, the story, crafts and ideas of Shiwan pottery culture will be displayed and told to netizens, which would promote the Shiwan millennium ceramics culture to the world.

The Innovation Workshop opened in April this year and was built in the form of a ceramics creation incubator. In order to welcome the arrival of the year of rat, the young artists and designers who took the lead in the Innovation Workshop successfully created more than 20 pieces of ceramics creations themed with the year of rat. On November 8th, the animal sign exhibition was held on the spot.

“It is hard for traditional Shiwan pottery sculpture to get the attention of young consumers in this ever-changing network era. In order to push the Shiwan pottery culture to the younger generation, we must create a new cultural carrier and refresh the new Shiwan pottery culture.” He Jianghai, head of the Nanguo Taoyuan Art Design Innovation Workshop, said that this was an attempt.
Products as well as marketing methods are innovating. The innovation workshop was like “a web celebrity live-streaming base”. Five live spots were set up on the scene. Nearly 40 ceramic artists and web celebrities introduced the zodiac works in the hands with the national audience in front of the camera. The creative concept was elaborated in vivid and interesting language, and the production process of Shiwan Ceramics was explained.
"Traditional culture can be revived via the Internet." Zhang Xibin, general manager of Tech Master Co. Ltd, said that the web celebrity base is only an initial attempt. In the next stage, "cultural and creative web celebrity" strategy will be implemented, after which Foshan traditional culture, such as paper cutting, Kung-Fu and lion head will be promoted to the whole country through the web celebrity model.
Li Zhuojian, deputy director of the Culture, Radio, Film and Tourism and Sports Bureau of Chancheng District, said that the web celebrity base has not only displayed new works of young pottery artists, but also provided a sharing platform for the creation of pottery artists. Moreover, it has created new patterns for the promotion of pottery works and the spread of pottery culture in the future.
