The “Firewood Burning and Environmental Protection” work exhibition opened at the Beijing Guozhong Ceramic Art Museum on August 4 ended on August 11. During the exhibition, more than 80 mentors and guests from the Academy of Fine Arts of Tsinghua University, 20 wood-fired artists from all over the country, and more than 80 pottery friends who came from all over the country gathered together in the Guozhong Ceramic Art Museum to participate in and witness the launch of the event. The project is funded by the Beijing Culture and Art Fund and co-organized by the Academy of Fine Arts of Tsinghua University and the Guozhong Ceramic Art Museum. It aims to adopt a variety of methods such as wood-fired technology research, academic seminars, practical exploration, international exchanges, and creative exhibitions on traditional ceramics. Build a platform for outstanding firewood pottery talents, create conditions and provide services to promote the cultivation of pottery talents, the brand building of ceramic firewood, and the combination of results to promote the cultivation of firewood artist talents in all directions.
The project leader, Director of the Admissions Office of the Academy of Fine Arts of Tsinghua University, and Associate Professor of the Ceramics Department Liu Runfu introduced the composition of the artists of this project in detail. Some of them are academic teachers with strong creative ability in modeling and art; some are designers, focusing on design Creation; there are also wood-burning artists in the production area who are familiar with wood burning techniques and have strong practical ability. Therefore, each teacher’s emphasis, expertise and focus are different. This project brings everyone together to exchange and discuss with each other, and jointly investigate and practice the intangible heritage subject of carrying forward traditional firewood burning skills, and find effective solutions for development. path. In the final summary of the seminar, Mr. Liu emphasized to remind everyone to pay attention to the following points: First, the wood burning technique is a technique, not a goal. We have different identities and different goals. But we must cherish tradition and serve the contemporary. Second, "traditional pottery" and "modern pottery" are not an opposite proposition, but an extension of the time dimension. And what runs through it is the inherent "ceramic tradition" of each culture and civilization. Third, modeling, decoration, craftsmanship and aesthetics, no matter which ceramic art link is involved, "advance with the times, innovative development" is the soul of "ceramic art tradition". Finally, the "Wood Firing and Environmental Protection" project focuses on improving the "wood firing process" link to promote the development of China's "Ceramic Art Tradition". The "wood firing" technique will eventually advance with the times and become an important means of enriching "contemporary pottery".
Now let the editor make a comprehensive review of the exhibition works of the wood-fired ceramic artists participating in this exhibition, so that friends who have not had time to visit the exhibition will have a feast for their eyes.
