International Academy of Ceramics

国际陶艺学会(英文简称IAC)，是联合国教科文组织的一个非政府组织官方合作机构，代表世界当代陶艺的最高水平。

学会的宗旨是通过世界陶艺交流，鼓励文化融洽，为陶艺家、博物馆、画廊、收藏家、学校及其他专业机构提供交流和沟通机会，促进当代陶艺的发展。

国际陶艺学会共有1000多位个人会员和团体会员，代表着来自各大洲的八十多个国家或地区，中国仅有113位个人会员和团体会员(其中包括港澳台地区)。

The International Academy of Ceramics (IAC) is an non-governmental official cooperative organization of UNESCO, representing the highest level of contemporary ceramic art in the world.

The purpose of Academy is to encourage the cultural harmony through global ceramic exchange, provide opportunities for the communication and exchange among ceramic artists, museums, galleries, collectors, schools, and other professional institutions, and promote the development of contemporary ceramic art.

The IAC has over 1000 individual and group members, representing over 80 countries or regions from various continents. China only has 113 individual and group members (including Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan).

The Appreciation Journey of International Ceramics

2023 年12月20日至2024年1月10日，北京国中陶瓷艺术馆将成为国际陶艺界的聚焦点，隆重举办“瓷路今朝——2023 国际陶艺学会中国会员作品展览暨国际陶艺学术论坛”。

此次活动由国际陶艺学会（IAC）主办，国中陶瓷艺术馆承办，并得到中国陶瓷工业协会、中央美术学院、中国美术学院、景德镇陶瓷大学、清华大学美术学院国内多家机构协办和支持。展览旨在促进中国与世界陶瓷艺术家之间的学术交流，推动当代陶瓷艺术的合作、创新与发展。

“一带一路”倡议提出十周年的背景下，本次IAC中国会员作品展览将通过一批中国陶瓷艺术家的新作品，展示活跃在中国陶瓷艺术舞台上的优秀艺术家们的思考和作为。展览将充分彰显IAC中国会员的创作水平和风格特点，体现其开阔胸襟、国际视野和创新精神，以及对陶瓷艺术孜孜不倦地探索追求。这也是首次，在中国举办面向世界的中国会员展览，展览出的中国陶瓷艺术集结了现代陶艺界的创新精神与传统技艺，标志着一个全新的艺术里程碑。

From December 20, 2023 to January 10, 2024, Beijing Guozhong Ceramic Art Museum will become the focal point of the international ceramic industry, solemnly hosting the "New Journey of China Porcelain, New Ceramics Art. 2023 Exhibition for the works of IAC Chinese Members and International Ceramic Art Academic Forum”.

This event is sponsored by the IAC, organized by Guozhong Ceramic Art Museum, and co-organized and supported by multiple domestic institutions including the China Ceramic Industry Association, Central Academy of Fine Arts, China Academy of Arts, Jingdezhen Ceramic University, and Academy of Arts&Design, Tsinghua University. The exhibition aims to promote academic exchanges between ceramic artists from China and the world, and to promote the cooperation, innovation, and the development of the contemporary ceramic art.

Against the background of tenth anniversary of the "the Belt and Road" initiative, this IAC China member works exhibition will show the thinking and actions of the outstanding artists active on the Chinese ceramic art stage through a number of new works of Chinese ceramic artists. The exhibition will fully show the creative level and style characteristics of IAC China members, reflecting their broad mindedness, international perspective, and innovative spirit, as well as their tireless exploration and pursuit of ceramic art. This is also the first time that a Chinese member exhibition has been held in China for the world, showing the innovative spirit and traditional skills of modern ceramic art, marking a new artistic milestone.

The Distinctive Impression of Contemporary Ceramic Art

中国工艺美术大师、国际陶艺学会会员、洛阳三彩艺术博物馆馆长郭爱和受邀参加了此次展览。

三彩作品《玖和》和《龙马负图》，以其独特的艺术风格和深邃的文化底蕴，展示了中国陶艺的传统与创新。

Guo Aihe, the master of Chinese arts and crafts, member of the International Academy of Ceramics, and the curator of the Luoyang Tri-colored Glazed Pottery Art Museum was invited to participate in this exhibition.
The Tri-colored glazed pottery works "Harmony Forever" and "The Picture of Dragon and Horse Bearing" show the tradition and innovation of Chinese pottery with their unique artistic style and profound cultural heritage.

艺术与主题的完美融合

本次“瓷路今朝”展览不仅是对传统陶艺技法的一次深刻探索，也是对当代艺术精神的一次绚丽展示。

The perfect integration of art and theme

This "New Journey of China Porcelain, New Ceramics Art" exhibition is not only a profound exploration of traditional ceramic techniques, but also a brilliant display of the spirit of contemporary art.

Guo Aihe's works perfectly match the theme of the exhibition and reflect the international influence and cultural depth of Luoyang Tri-color Glazed Pottery under the historical background of the tenth anniversary of the "the Belt and Road" initiative.

此次陶瓷艺术展作品是从国际陶艺学会中国80多位会员中甄选出100多件/套作品供陶瓷艺术家进行鉴赏交流，这些作品在题材、形式、颜色、结构和纹理等方面都呈现出丰富的多样性，艺术家们从当代艺术观念中汲取灵感，探索创新了具有当代形态的艺术表达和审美情趣，促进了陶艺的个性化、多元化、国际化发展。

本届展览不仅展示了中国陶艺的传统魅力，更开启了对未来陶艺创新方向的探索。陶艺家们都在用自己的方式诠释着陶艺的现代性和当代性，推动着中国陶艺在全球艺术舞台上的持续发展和辉煌。

Innovation and Exploration of Contemporary Ceramic Art

This ceramic art exhibition has selected over 100 pieces/sets of works from over 80 members of International Academy of Ceramics in China for ceramic artists to appreciate and exchange. These works exhibit rich diversity in themes, forms, colors, structures, and textures. The artists draw inspiration from contemporary art concepts, explore and innovate artistic expressions and aesthetic tastes with contemporary forms, and promote the personalization and diversification of ceramic art Internationalization development.

This exhibition not only shows the traditional charm of Chinese ceramics, but also opens up exploration of future ceramic innovation directions. Ceramic artists are interpreting the modernity and contemporaneity of ceramics in their own ways, promoting the sustained development and glory of Chinese ceramics on the global art stage.

Gathering brilliance:  The artistic feast of tradition and innovation

The "New Journey of China Porcelain, New Ceramics Art" exhibition is not only a tribute to the traditional ceramic art, but also a feast of culture and innovation. The works of ceramic artists together build a diverse and rich artistic world, showing the unique charm of Chinese ceramic art between tradition and modernity, as well as witnessing the important position of Chinese ceramic art in global cultural exchange and its steadfast progress on the path of innovation. This is not only a tribute to the endless creativity of artists, but also a hopeful outlook for the future development of Chinese pottery.

展览期间，线上线下同时举行了“陶瓷艺术的未来”主题论坛，还采用了陶瓷艺术“元宇宙”平台向全球同步直播。本次展览将持续至2024年1月10日。

Zhang Chonghe, President of the China Light Industry Federation, Torbjørn Kvasbø, President of the International Academy of Ceramics (IAC), Mr. Jacques Kaufman, Honorary President of the IAC, Donald Wayne Hagby, former Vice President of the IAC and Director of the Alfred University Museum of Art in New York, Li Lianning, Deputy Director of the Legal Committee of the National People's Congress, and Lv Zhangshen, former Director of the National Museum of China, Norwegian Ambassador Bai Sina, Chairman of the China Ceramic Industry Association Du Tonghe, Chairman of the China Arts and Crafts Association Zhou Zhengsheng, Secretary General of the National Committee of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization Qin Changwei, Vice Chairman of the China Ceramic Industry Association Wu Yueshen, Vice Chairman of the China Arts and Crafts Association and Dean of the Academy of Arts and Design, Tsinghua University Ma Sai, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Vice President of Jingdezhen Ceramic University Lv Pinchang, more than 100 top artists and IAC members from all over the country attended the opening ceremony and forum of the event, including Liu Zheng, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of China Academy of Arts, Zheng Zhi, president of Yuanyang Investment Group, Zhang Fuye, Director and Professor of the World Arts and Crafts Research Institute at Academy of Arts and Design, Tsinghua University, Chen Liehan, Executive Director of Beijing Guozhong Ceramic Art Museum and Chinese Arts and Crafts Master, and Wu Ming, Chinese Arts and Crafts Master. Hundreds of IAC members from over 78 countries and regions simultaneously participated online.

During the exhibition, the themed forum on "The Future of Ceramic Art" was held both online and offline, and the ceramic art "Metaverse" platform was also used for synchronous live streaming to the world. This exhibition will continue until January 10, 2024.

让世界看见三彩

2008年，郭爱和三彩作品《鸟巢》获联合国教科文组织国际陶艺学会第四十三届“国际陶艺大会”金奖。2009年，入展建国六十周年在中国美术馆举办的“中国工艺美术大展”。

Let the world see the Tri-colored glazed pottery

In 2008, Guo Aihe's tri-colored glazed pottery work "Bird's Nest" won the gold medal at the 43rd International Ceramic Congress of the UNESCO International Academy of Ceramics In 2009,  exhibiting in the "China Arts and Crafts Exhibition" held at the China National Art Museum in the 60th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.
