On December 15th, the Pottery Workshop's Friday Lecture Series is delighted to host Anthony Quinn, Head of Ceramics at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design. Tony leads the undergraduate ceramics design course and serves as the subject leader for master's courses in ceramics, furniture, and jewelry design.

Tony brings extensive experience in creative practices that encompass education, design, writing, and consultancy. In his role as a design consultant, Tony has collaborated with various clients, including British Airways, Debenhams, and Wedgwood.

He is also the author of the book "The Ceramic Design Course" (2006) and co-authored "The Workshop Guide to Ceramics" with Duncan Hooson in 2012.

近几年，Tony的研究与实践逐渐往多个方面发展，包括将陶瓷教育重新引入学校课程；鼓励在人机交互中加入更多人性化元素；强调共同设计在社区成长中的重要性等。这些领域相互关联，反应出Tony在实践中的重点关注内容。

从2010年开始，Tony便与研究机构合作，开发了新的视觉识别系统——Artcodes，在人机交互中加入更多人性化的元素，将机械化的二维码转化为独特的图案，为产品、包装、服务和交互设计提供了视觉互动的新机会。

In the past, Tony's research and practice have extended into diverse areas, including initiatives to reintroduce ceramics education into school curricula, advocate for a more humane approach to human-computer interaction, and underscore the importance of co-design in community development. These interconnected fields reflect Tony's primary concerns in practice. 

Since 2010, Tony has collaborated with research institutions in the development of a new visual recognition system called Artcodes. This system introduces more personalized elements into human-computer interaction, transforming the mechanical QR code into unique patterns. It opens up new opportunities for visual interaction within product, packaging, service, and interaction design.
