Hou Wenquan, vice chairman and secretary general of China Ceramic Industry Association, one of the organizers, pointed out in his speech: In the past ten years, modern ceramic art has quietly emerged in China, and it has organically collided with traditional Chinese ceramic art. Traditional pottery has always pursued practicality, decoration and regularity in art. Modern ceramic art advocates freedom of creation, expression of individuality, and the pursuit of inner feelings and emotional expression. Under the collision of the two, modern ceramic art has produced rich cultural connotations and individual characteristics. However, both traditional ceramic art and modern ceramic art complement each other, learn from each other and develop continuously. Kaufman's pottery works fully demonstrate the perfect combination of modern pottery, Chinese traditional culture and traditional materials. At the same time, he also expressed the view that traditional ceramic art is the foundation of modern ceramic art, and modern ceramic art is the inevitable trend of the development of traditional ceramic art.

It showcases China’s extensive and profound traditional culture through the personalized perspective of Western artists. From the perspective of re-understanding and interpreting Chinese stories, allowing more Westerners to understand China and building a bridge between Chinese and Western cultures, I believe that this will effectively promote the cultural exchanges between Chinese and Western ceramics and promote cultural exchanges and cooperation in various fields between China and the West.
