Jingdezhen Ceramic University Attended the 49th IAC Congress & General Assembly

2021年9月22-24日，由IAC国际陶艺学会主办的“在边缘”第49届IAC国际陶艺学会大会在芬兰洛瓦涅米的拉普兰举办。为期三天的会议，来自近20个国家和地区的200余名会员共聚云端在线上分享了陶瓷创作的理念、陶瓷材料的运用、工作室的运作等专业知识，并讨论了陶瓷艺术、设计、工艺之间的融合互鉴与发展。

From September 22 to 24, 2021, the 49th IAC Congress & General Assembly-On the Edge was held in Lapland, Rovaniemi, Finland. During the three-day meeting, more than 200 members from nearly 20 countries and regions gathered to share professional knowledge such as the concept of ceramic creation, the application of ceramic materials and the operation of the studio, and discussed the integration, mutual learning and development of ceramic art, design and crafts.

IAC全称为国际陶艺学会(International Academy of Ceramics)，1952年成立于瑞士日内瓦.目前该组织的会员来自74个国家，共吸纳了880名陶艺家和相关机构成为会员，现任主席为瑞典陶艺家Torbjørn Kvasbø。

IAC, fully known as the International Academy of ceramics, is a non-profit organization under UNESCO. It was established in Geneva, Switzerland in 1952. At present, the organization has members from 74 countries and has attracted 880 ceramicists and relevant institutions as members. The current chairman is Swedish ceramist Torbjørn Kvasbø

本届大会原定于2020年在芬兰举办，因为疫情延期1年并改为全球线上会议。大会的总主题是“在边缘”，这个主题反映了芬兰在欧洲边缘的北极位置，以及其他地区在世界边缘的位置，是一种由内而外的视野。如今，从事陶瓷创作在艺术世界、文化、健康、环境和创造性思维的世界中意味着什么? 陶瓷艺术家如何应对我们快速变化的世界? 本届的主题“在边缘”具有特殊意义，它提供一个机会来重新想象，重新思考和开启对话，讨论陶瓷艺术，设计和工艺的主流和边缘问题。 

The Congress was originally scheduled to be held in Finland in 2020. Due to the global epidemic , it was postponed for one year and changed to a global online conference.The general theme of the Congress is “On the Edge”. This theme reflects Finland's Arctic position on the edge of Europe and the position of other regions on the edge of the world. It is an inside-out vision.Today, what does it mean to be engaged in ceramic creation in the world of art, culture, health, environment and creative thinking? How could ceramic artists responding to our rapidly changing world? The theme of this session, “On the Edge”, is of special significance. It provides an opportunity to reimagine, rethink and restart a dialogue that addresses both mainstream and margins within ceramic art, design and crafts.

因疫情由线下会议转线上会议形式的体验，拉进了彼此的距离，大家都共同期待“后疫情”时代陶瓷艺术领域的国际交流与合作，并希望2022年相聚在瑞士日内瓦下一届的IAC会议现场。

The experience of changing from offline meeting to online meeting due to the epidemic has brought everyone closer.We all look forward to international exchanges and cooperation in the field of ceramic art in the "post epidemic" era, and hope to meet at the next IAC Congress in Geneva, Switzerland in 2022.

吕品昌在会议上代表景德镇陶瓷大学发言，他介绍了景德镇的历史和今天的城市变化，以及景德镇陶瓷大学的主要特色专业，并介绍了在获得景德镇市人民政府和IAC大力支持之下,学校积极推动“景德镇国际陶瓷艺术双年展”并牵头成立“一带一路”国际陶瓷教育联盟的工作。他表示，景德镇陶瓷大学将一如既往地支持和参与IAC主办的各项国际学术活动，积极融入世界陶艺交流，搭建世界性舞台，营造更加开放的国际学术交流环境，为促进世界当代陶艺的发展作出积极的贡献。

Lyu Pinchang spoke at the meeting on behalf of Jingdezhen Ceramic University. He introduced the history of Jingdezhen and the changes in the city today, as well as the main specialties of Jingdezhen ceramic University. He also introduced university's active efforts to promote the "Jingdezhen International Ceramic Art Biennial", with the support of the Jingdezhen Municipal Government and IAC, and led the establishment of the “One Belt One Road”-International Ceramic Education Alliance. He said that Jingdezhen Ceramic University will always support and participate in various international academic activities sponsored by IAC, actively integrate into the world ceramic exchange, build a world stage, create a more open international academic exchange environment, and make positive contributions to promoting the development of contemporary ceramic art in the world.

作为国际陶艺学会的会员单位，景德镇陶瓷大学国际学院、国际合作与交流处、外国语学院、现教中心、陶瓷美术学院等相关部门协同合作，共同承担了本次会议的申请、会务、翻译、技术保障等各项工作。外国语学院的中文同声传译团队获得了IAC组委会及全体会员的一致好评；通过此次会议，锻炼了队伍，传播了陶大声音，扩大了陶大的国际影响力。

As a member of the IAC, JCI International School, Office of International Cooperation & Exchange, School of International Studies, Technical Center of Modern Education, School of Ceramic Art and other relevant departments cooperated together and jointly undertook the application, conference affairs, translation, technical support and other work of the Congress.The Chinese simultaneous interpretation team of the School of International Studies has won unanimous praise from the IAC Organizing Committee and all members. Through the Congress, we trained the team, spread JCU’s voice and expanded JCU’s international influence.
