Guan Lan, female, Han nationality. Native of Yangjiang, Guangdong. Born in Hong Kong in 1953, he studied painting with his father, Bao Min Gong, an important descendant of the Lingnan Geshan School of Painting, and acquired the essence of Geshan Flower and Bird Painting. After middle school, he graduated from the Fine Arts Department of Taiwan Normal University, under the tutelage of Huang Junbi, Lin Yushan, Sun Yunsheng, Liang Xiuzhong, and Luo Fang. He graduated with honors in 1976.

In 1988, Geshan Painting Gallery and Guofeng Publishing House were established in Taipei, and he devoted himself to the art business and involved in cross-strait cultural and artistic exchanges. He has published albums and held exhibitions for many outstanding artists such as Guan Shanyue, Wu Guanzhong, Wang Zhaomin, Yang Zhiguang, Long Rui, Zhou Yansheng, and introduced exhibitions of the Chinese Artists Association and the Chinese Calligraphy Association, which have had a profound impact in Taiwan.

In 2000, he went to Shanghai to establish the Haishanshan Art Center to promote contemporary oil painting, photography and ceramic art.

In 2011, I came into contact with the colorful underglaze in Liling, Hunan, and became obsessed with it. Then I went to Liling to paint porcelain. With decades of cultural and artistic accumulation and cultivation, as well as the integration of Geshan painting style into porcelain, the paintings are fresh in style, colorful, noble and elegant, opening a new page of colorful porcelain painting under the glaze of Liling.
