Artist Biography

Li Huangxiang, female, senior arts and crafts artist, Hunan Province Arts and Crafts Master, Hunan Province Ceramic Art Master, Member of Hunan Province Ceramic Industry Association. Born in a family of ceramics in Liling, Hunan Province in 1965, he studied painting and calligraphy with his father (Li Xiaonian-a master of Chinese arts and crafts) since childhood. In 1979, he entered the art apprentice class sponsored by the Provincial Porcelain Industry Corporation to study ceramic art design. In 1982, he entered Qunli Porcelain Factory and his father's studio engaged in ceramic art design. In 1985, he entered the Central Academy of Art and Design, under the guidance of Ye Qianyu and Zhang Shijian. He is mainly good at painting creation of meticulous brushwork, ink and wash flowers and birds, and figures. His works are unique in style, featuring freshness, elegance, vividness, interest and tranquility. His works are collected by many ceramic museums and fans.

In 2009, his work "New Autumn" was awarded a silver medal by Hunan Ceramic Association.

In 2010, his works "Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter" and "Autumn Heron" won the Ninth National Bronze Award for Ceramic Art Design Innovation.

In 2011, the work "Yucui Xiangning" was collected by Hunan Arts and Crafts Association.

In 2012, the work "Harmonious Family" won the gold medal of the 2nd China Hunan Embroidery Culture and Art and the 4th Hunan Arts and Crafts Exposition and the 5th Hunan Arts and Crafts Grand Prix.

In 2013, the porcelain plate of the work "Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter" won the "Chinese Arts and Crafts Cultural Creativity Award" at the International Cultural Industry Expo.

In 2014, the work "Pine Wind Shakes Cui Feather" was collected by Hunan Arts and Crafts Association.
