    Artist Biography

    Liu Jinsong, born in Liling, Hunan in 1969, graduated from the Art Department of the Art College of Hunan Normal University in 1990, a master of Chinese ceramic art, a member of the China Ceramic Industry Association, and the design art director of Hunan New Century Ceramics Co., Ltd.

    Engaged in ceramic art creation for nearly 30 years, inheriting and developing the unique underglaze multicolored porcelain traditional craftsmanship of Liling kiln, and pioneering new ways and boldly innovating, he is a leader among the contemporary Chinese young and middle-aged ceramic artists. His underglaze multicolored works have deep artistic conception, elegant style, elegant and noble coloring; many works have been awarded frequently in international and domestic exhibition competitions, and are deeply loved by experts and collectors.

    Liu Jinsong's ceramic art style is rich in diversity, with very rich expression forms and artistic heritage. He has fine brush landscapes imitating the Song and Yuan Dynasties, fine-brushed flowers and birds with rigorous and delicate shapes, and innovative features that combine fine brushwork and splash-color painting. His most distinctive ceramic art works in the "After the Rain" series are a major innovation in the art of underglaze multicolored porcelain. He used skilled underglaze multicolored techniques to perfectly combine porcelain painting with splash-color painting techniques to make the painting present the beautiful flowing beauty of the five-color underglaze, and successfully introduced the fine brushwork into the ceramic art creation to make the picture appear Silence in movement makes the work show a kind of aura; he uses the unique high-temperature underglaze of the Liling kiln to use the five-color, crystal-clear and moist, elegant and bright characteristics to form a gorgeous and elegant artistic style, giving people a kind of Fresh, elegant, noble and harmonious beauty.

    In 1995, the underglaze multicolored work "After the Rain" was selected by the China Light Industry Association to participate in the "Japan Mino International Ceramics Grand Prix" and "International Ceramics Exhibition" and won the prize.

    In 1998, the high-temperature underglaze painting "Pair of the Pharynx" was selected by the General Office of the State Council and displayed in the Ziguang Pavilion, Zhongnanhai for permanent collection.

    In 1999, he created the underglaze multicolored work "Red Lotus" using the freehand brushwork style of splash ink. It was praised by art experts for its novel picture, fresh and bright color, and was listed as a treasure of Chinese arts and crafts by the China Art Museum. The museum is permanently displayed.

    In 2012, the underglaze multicolored porcelain plate painting "Furong Country in the Light" won the gold medal of the 5th Hunan Arts and Crafts Competition.

    In 2015, the underglaze multicolored porcelain plate "Prosperity Lotus" won the gold medal in the China Ceramic Art Exhibition and the 10th National Ceramic Art Design Innovation Competition.

    In 2015, the underglaze multicolored porcelain vase "Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter, Four Seasons Bottle" won the gold medal in the 3rd China Famous Ceramics Exhibition and 2015 Ceramic Works Competition.

    In 2015, the underglaze multicolored porcelain vase "Qing Xia" won the gold medal of the 6th Hunan Arts and Crafts Competition.

    In 2016, at the National Museum of China's "Arts and Crafts Biennale" exhibited works collection ceremony, his underglaze multicolored work "Autumn Beauty" was collected by the National Museum of China.
