A native of Liling, Hunan, born in December 1952, graduated from the Fine Arts College of Hunan Normal University.

He has been engaged in underglaze multicolored ceramic art for nearly 40 years and has won more than 40 national and provincial awards including the Gold Medal in the 43rd International Ceramic Art Competition.

Because of his outstanding achievements in ceramic art, he was named the top ten figures of the year in the Hunan painting circle in 2009. In 2010, he was awarded the Hunan Province Top Ten Skilled Masters by the Hunan Provincial Government, and won the National Skilled Talents Outstanding Contribution Award, and the compilation of Sanxiang Who The committee awarded the title of "Contemporary Celebrities".

His works have been collected by many art museums at home and abroad, such as the China Arts and Crafts Art Museum, the National Museum, and Taiwan Foguangyuan Art Museum.

Published "Selected Works of Zhu Zhanping Ceramic Art". His representative works include "Duo Ji Du Fu", "Lotus Rhyme", "Icing on the Cake", "Autumn Pond Moonlight" and so on. He has served as a national and provincial professional judge for many times.
