Artist Biography

Wang Jianzhong Born in 1955, professor and doctoral supervisor of the Academy of Fine Arts of Tsinghua University, vice chairman and executive director of China Arts and Crafts Association, vice chairman of China Ceramic Industry Association, executive chairman of China Ceramic Industry Association Art Committee, director of China Ceramic Art Design Center, China National member of the Association for Science and Technology, member of the Chinese Artists Association. In 2003, he won the "Teaching and Educating Award of Tsinghua University"; in 2011 and 2013, he was awarded the "Special Contribution Award for Promoting the Development of Chinese Ceramic Art and Design" and "Chinese Ceramic Art and Design" jointly awarded by China National Light Industry Council and China Ceramic Industry Association. Outstanding Contribution to Education". Participate in the design of national gifts to celebrate the establishment of Inner Mongolia, Ningxia, and Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. Published monographs and essays "Grand View of International Ceramic Design", "Cizhou Kiln", "World Modern Glass Art", "The Fire Is Red", etc. He has held many solo exhibitions, including a large-scale solo exhibition at the National Art Museum of China in 2016. His works have participated in many exhibitions at home and abroad and won awards, and have been collected by institutions and private collections at home and abroad, such as the Ministry of Culture, National Art Museum of China, National Museum, National Art Museum of China, National Grand Theater, External Exhibition Center of the People’s Republic of China, South Korea Ceramic Museum, Mokpo City Government, South Korea, etc.
