    Work introduction

    Forms in which each ceramist recognizes the usual briquettes of ceramic mass, from which someone has already picked up a little clay. Black clay and white clay as a symbol of eternal struggle and unity of opposites. Two opposites are the foundation of the foundations, the foundation of the universe and a hint of the beginning of the work of the Ceramist

    Artist Biography

    Volodymyr Khyzhynsky. Kyiv. Ukraine

    Ceramic artist, PhD in the history of art, member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine, member of the International Academy of Ceramics (IAS), associate professor of the Department of Artistic Ceramics, Wood, Sculpture and Metal of the Kyiv State Academy of Arts and Design named after Michael  Boychuk.

     He was born on July 28, 1971 in Kamianets-Podilskyi, Ukraine.

     Graduate of Lviv Academy of Arts in 1997 (Department of Ceramics).

     Since 1999 a member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine.

     From 2019 Member of the International Ceramics Academy (IAS), Geneva.

    He is a regular participant of art exhibitions, conferences, symposia of national and international levels.  14 personal and more than 170 group exhibitions, participation in 14 plein airs of artistic ceramics.

     The works are: National Museum of Ukrainian Folk Decorative Art in Kyiv;  Museum of the Lviv Academy of Arts;  Lviv Museum of Ethnography and Art Craft;  State Museum - the reserve of Ukrainian pottery in Opishne;  Lutsk Local History Museum;  Khmelnytsky Art Museum;  Museum of Ceramics, Boleslawiec, Poland, International Museum of Ceramics (MISC), Buenos Aires, Argentina.  International Ceramics Museum in Faenza, Italy, as well as in private collections in Ukraine, Poland, Germany, Austria, France, Switzerland, Spain, Estonia, Canada and other countries.

    2017, 2019 - Member of the jury of the International Biennial of Art Ceramics named after Vasyl Krychevsky.

     

     The subject of creative and scientific interests is modern professional artistic ceramics.  I am deeply convinced that ART CERAMICS is a MODERN ART!
